The 39-acre Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is located in Wichita at 5500 East Kellogg. The VAMC provides primary and secondary inpatient services in medicine and surgery as well as outpatient services in medicine, surgery and psychiatry. Presently, the VAMC operates 41 hospital beds: 23 general medical beds, 10 general surgical beds, and 8 intensive care beds. The VAMC also supports a 40-bed Nursing Home Care Unit located within the hospital complex.
VA seeks to competitively select a private developer to lease up to approximately 1.6 acres of vacant land on campus. The successful private EUL bidder(s) will provide VA with in-kind consideration that includes the development and operation of new supportive housing units with on-site supportive services for individuals and/or families. Such units and services will be provided to Veterans, who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, on a priority basis.
