The VA Building Utilization Review and Repurposing (BURR) initiative has identified underutilized land and buildings at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Marion Campus of the Veterans In Partnership Healthcare Network (VISN 11) in Marion, Indiana for a long-term ground lease.
The VA Marion Campus is located in Marion, Indiana. Originally constructed as the Marion branch of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, VANIHCS Marion Campus has been improving the health of the men and woman who have so proudly served our nation since 1889. The Marion Campus has 75 acute psychiatry beds and a 150 bed nursing home care unit, as well as primary care, outpatient medical and surgical specialty care and mental health clinics. The campus consists of approximately 150 acres (and 75 buildings) and is listed on both the Indiana Register of Historic Sites and Structures and the National Register of Historic Places. Under the enhanced-use lease (EUL) proposal, underutilized property will be repurposed as housing for homeless Veterans and their families.
