CPEP continues to implement quality improvement and training enhancements within the CBOFO. Through a series of C&P examiner training videos, template training CDs, and Satellite Broadcasts, CPEP sets the standard for excellent designing/conducting educational training processes to improve the C&P exam process for veterans.
Current initiatives include:
- RVSR Liaison Conference - VBA/VHA Improving the C&P Exam Process Together was held in Charleston, SC July 12-13, 2004
- Compensation & Pension (C&P) Quality Improvement Program for C&P Clinicians, Program Managers, and Administrative Coordinators Training: Tentatively December 2004 the objective of this training program is designed to meet identified C&P training needs of examining clinicians and program administrators/managers to ensure that each examining facility exceeds VHA's Compensation and Pension Performance Measure
- Developing standardized examination templates to be used nationally for conducting and reporting disability examinations templates for all C&P exam types
- Currently designing and field testing an Electronic CPEP Review Appeals Process of the FY 04 VHA Directors C&P performance measure # 15
- Developing and implementing regional office examination request performance measures in VARO Director's FY 06 performance plans
The CPEP Office has also developed reliable and valid methodologies for measuring examination and request report quality as determined by the criteria stated in the AMIE C&P examination worksheets and the VA rating schedule regulations. CPEP provides extensive monthly progress reporting reviews for C&P exams and request quality to VHA and VBA field facilities.
