Lona Mody, MD
|
The GRECC conducts clinical demonstration projects that supplement the ongoing clinical activities of the medical center. The goal of these projects is to further the innovation and application of new knowledge and ideas, evaluate their usefulness in the patient care setting, and demonstrate the practicality for export throughout the VA health system. These clinical units serve as sites for the field-testing of advanced knowledge in geriatric care. Clinical activities also serve as vehicles for the education of health care services research and development of studies locally and system-wide.
Current projects include:
Using caregiver dyads to facilitate Tai Chi for demented older Veterans
Using the interRAI home care assessment system in the Home-based Primary Care Program
Bridging the gap: Care management targeting veterans with cognitive impairment at times of transition
Fall reduction foci in the VA CLCs: Targeted risk factors, proactive elimination and enhanced mobility
