Some of its current research interests include: how stress and injury change aging cells; nervous system disorders and aging; the role of aging cells in diabetic nerve damage; the role of diet in inflammation response in aging; altered glucose in aging and age related diseases; blood pressure and hypertension in the elderly; how to prevent falls and improve mobility in the elderly; controlling infections in nursing homes; how cost effective home care is and how it can be used; assessing end of life and mental health care in nursing homes; comparing Veterans and non-Veterans in nursing homes; and how aging negatively impacts motor function.
