In May 2012, the VA brought together three MS experts to give an update on Disease Modifying Therapies. The experts cover sevearl topics including:

• What causes MS
• Current Disease Modifying Therapies
• Benefits and side effects of Disease Modifying Therapies
• Recently available oral Disease Modifying Therapies
• Experiences and advice from Veterans with MS
• VA services for Veterans with MS

Our video is intended for VA providers, Veterans with MS, their families and caregivers.

Video Series on MS and Cognitive Impairment

In July 2011, the VA did a satellite video broadcast on cognitive dysfunction in people with MS with two experts: Dr. Aaron Turner and Dr. Stephen Rao. Topics include:

• Clinical strategies to understand cognitive dysfunction in MS
• Brain imaging changes underlying cognitive dysfunction
• Pharmacological interventions to manage cognitive deficits
• Rehabilitation strategies to enhance memory, attention, and executive function.
• Veterans discuss their cognitive difficulties and how they compensate.

The target audience is primarily VA providers, but the information is very relevant and useful to Veterans, their families and other care givers.

In June 2010, the VA assembled a panel of experts on MS from the VA's East and West Centers of Excellence for a satellite video broadcast on Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs). Topics include:

• What is MS and what causes it?
• What are the current DMTs and what are the side effects?
• What new DMTs are under development?
• Veterans experiences with DMTs.
• VA services for Veterans with MS.

The target audience is primarily VA providers, but the information is very relevant and useful to Veterans, their families and other care givers.
