Multiple Sclerosis and Dalfampridline
Christopher Bever, director of the MS Center of Excellence East at the Baltimore VA, discusses a recently approved drug which improves walking in MS. The generic name is Dalfampridline and its chemical name is 4-Aminopyridine. Dalfampridline is a symptomatic treatment and does not modify the course of multiple sclerosis. VA providers need to be aware that this has an associated FDA-mandated Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) program. (9 minutes)
