Panel of Experts - What is Multiple Sclerosis?
A panel of VA experts on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) from the VA Centers of Excellence discusses all aspects of the chronic disease and the services provided by the VA for Veterans with MS. The host is Fields Moseley. The panel includes:
- Mitch Wallin, a clinical associate director of the MS Center of Excellence East in Baltimore Maryland and an associate professor of neurology at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Medicine;
- Jodie Haselkorn, the Director of the VA's MS Center of Excellence West, located in Seattle and a professor of rehabilitation medicine and epidemiology at the University of Washington;
- Michelle Cameron, a neurologist and a physical therapist, who provides patient care at the MS Center of Excellence West at the VA medical center in Portland Oregon and is an assistant professor at Oregon Health and Science University
- and Christopher Bever, director of the MS Center of Excellence East and associate chief of staff for research and development at the Baltimore VA and professor of neurology at the University of Maryland
This is the first, introduction video segment in which they discuss what MS is, how it is diagnosed and the episodic characteristics. Several Veterans with MS give their perspective on the disease. (6 minutes)
