OAA Evaluation Workgroup – Albuquerque Meeting

The Coordinating Center’s CoEPCE Evaluation Workgroup participated in an informative and first face to face meeting September 26-28th in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Organized by the OAA Evaluation & Analytics team, the meeting included representation from evaluation specialists at each of the five Centers of Excellence and staff from the Office of Academic Affiliations. Discussions took place around themes identified by the participants as important workgroup topics. Judy Bowen of the Coordinating Center encouraged the participants to consider all discussions in the crucial context of CoE local evaluation activities within the scheme of the national evaluation plan. Informative presentations by each CoE representative generated lively discussions around topics such as CoE coding related to survey administration, challenges related to the administration of the TDM (Team Development Survey); shared definitions of teams and those characteristics that constitute high functioning teams; as well as thoughts methods to evaluate the interface between the educational mission of CoEPCE and the local CoE environment. Evaluation and Analytics staff also provided practical presentations to include NP fellow and resident position competency checklists, VINCI and the OAA VINCI workspace and the relation to evaluation of data, and the efficacy of current instruments in measuring CoE core domains (e.g. LPS-PC and TDM).
