Centers of Excellence Primary Care Education The Week's BLAST News Links November 1, 2012Actions This Week:The Coordinating Center would like to identify 1-2 representatives from each site to participate as a member of the Planning Committee to support the development of our annual meeting scheduled for the week of March 4th, 2013. The preliminary time identified for the meeting is Tuesday, of each week at noon Eastern Time, with the first meeting to be held on November 13th. Please send forward the names of 1-2 representatives from your site that might be available to participate. This person will be asked to serve as a communication liaison between the site and the Coordinating Center. Please send forward the names of your representative to Laural Traylor by November 9th. Program Manager Reminder: Publications and Presentations Update due to the Portal by November 15th. Note: National Nurse Practitioner Week is Nov 11-17, 2012. AANP has NP related statistics and a nice resource guide with posters, publications and other materials in the AANP press room. Kevin Grumbach, MD, Chair and Professor in UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine and Catherine Lucey, MD, Vice Dean for Education in UCSF School of Medicine, framed the meeting around cross-system learning and the need to tailor curriculum to support the transformation of “physician centered practice to patient focused teams”. The general mission of the summit was to facilitate shared understanding of how each system is redesigning models of primary care and to find out how UCSF can be best positioned within these transformational models to support the development of students and trainees who will eventually practice in a patient centered system.
