ICS Mission

Our mission is to assist the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Business Oversight (OBO) annually to evaluate and report on the internal controls over financial reporting under the direction of the VA's Senior Assessment Team (SAT).

The Internal Controls Service (ICS) works closely with VA process owners to document the processes and key internal controls, conducts tests of internal controls; and reports on the results based on the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-123, Appendix A, Management’s Responsibility for Internal Control and financial management system reviews in accordance with OMB Circular A-127 Financial Management Systems .
