Frank K. Bajowski, Jr.

Mr. Bajowski returned to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in July 2010. He is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy after which he entered the U.S. Navy where, among other assignments, he participated in the Vietnam conflict. A career Reservist, between active duty and the Reserves, he ultimately attained the rank of Captain. Mr. Bajowski also spent 10 years at sea aboard various merchant ships, participating in various conflicts and humanitarian missions in support of U.S. forces abroad, eventually becoming a ship’s Master. Since entering the acquisition workforce with the U.S. Navy in 1984 Frank has worked at the Maritime Administration as well as the VA.
Since entering the acquisition workforce with the U.S. Navy in 1984, Mr. Bajowski Frank has worked at the Maritime Administration (twice) as well as the VACO (twice). Prior to returning to VACO, he was assigned to the Department of the Navy, Assistant for Administration in the Pentagon, where he was responsible for providing acquisition support to the Secretary, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries, CNO and their Pentagon staffs. Mr. Bajowski brings a wealth of knowledge - primarily in service contracting - which he acquired during 25+ years of experience in support of programs which exceeded as much as $1 billion in contract dollars. When combined with his operational/program experience and while working in industry, Mr. Bajowski brings a great understanding of the relationship between acquisition, program offices, and industry. Mr. Bajowski held an Unlimited warrant as a contracting officer at the Maritime Administration and VA.
