Mission, Vision, & Values

The VHA Primary Care Program Office adopted the Institute of Medicine’s definition of primary care which is the provision of integrated, accessible health care services by clinicians who are accountable for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs, developing a sustained partnership with patients, and practicing in the context of family and community.

Mission:  To honor America’s Veterans by providing outstanding Primary Care.

Vision:  To set an example of excellence as a Primary Care system characterized by Effectiveness, Safety, Access, Efficiency, High Patient Satisfaction, and Contributions to Healthy Communities.

Values:  We share the values of VHA — Compassion, Commitment, Excellence, Professionalism, Integrity, Accountability, and Stewardship.
