The VA Building Utilization Review and Repurposing (BURR) initiative has a four (4) acre parcel of land on the Bedford campus for a long-term ground lease under the Enhanced-Use Leasing (EUL) program.  VA is soliciting qualified developers to submit proposals to finance, design, develop, construct, equip, furnish and maintain a new permanent supportive housing project for homeless senior Veterans and their spouses, and those at risk of homelessness, on a priority basis.  Total land area of the campus is 181 acres.  It contains 34 larger buildings, totaling approximately 1.2 million square feet.

The Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA provides services in such areas as:  Geriatrics & Extended Care, Mental Health (including homelessness), Compensated Work Therapy, and Ambulatory Care.  Campus beds include 65 Hospital Beds, 345 Nursing Home Beds, 40 Domiciliary Beds, and 52 PRRTP Beds.  Specialized services include: Substance Abuse, Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Care, and an Alzheimer’s inpatient and outpatient care unit.
