Become a licensed user of theBlue Button® Service Marks.

 

The usage guidelines and licensing terms for Blue Button have changed; please see HealthIT.gov while these pages are being updated.

VA is the registered owner of the name “Blue Button,” the Blue Button logo, and the slogan “Download My Data” when used to provide information in the fields of health or medicine.    

 

 

 

VA obtained registration of these Service Marks so that software developers, doctors, hospitals and other medical providers could make Blue Button®-enabled personal health records (PHRs) freely available to patients across America.

 

You need a license to use any of the Blue Button® Marks.  VA will issue a non-exclusive no-cost license if you apply, are not prohibited from doing business with the federal government, and agree to license terms.
