The mission of our research program is to conduct investigations that will improve the health care of veterans. To accomplish this mission, we host research in a broad spectrum of medical fields that span basic laboratory research to clinical trials.
The Ralph H. Johnson VAMC research program is closely interfaced with the diverse research program at the Medical University of South Carolina. The close proximity and shared high regard for research among these institutions provides a mutually beneficial academic and clinical environment that strives for research excellence.
