The New York Regional Office is one of 57 offices providing benefits, such as Compensation, Pension, Education, Loan Guaranty, Vocational Rehabilitation and employment Services, and Insurance. The New York Regional Office is located in downtown Manhattan and is open from 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday.
Our MISSION is to provide benefits and services to veterans and their dependents in an accurate and timely manner, which our customers recognize as compassionate and responsive.
The New York Regional Office serves approximately 600,000 veterans in 31 counties on the eastern half of New York State and is conveniently located in the trendy Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan’s lower west side.
The office primarily administers Compensation for Disability claims and related transactions, while the Philadelphia Regional Office/ Pension Management Center administers claims for Pension, Death Pension, Dependency and Indemnity Compensation, and Burial Reimbursement benefits.
Military Service Members, Veterans, and family members can visit the Regional Office to get information and assistance on other VA benefits such as Pension, Education, VA Home Loan Guarantee Program, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment, Life Insurance, and eBenefits.
In addition, the Regional Office houses the Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment counselors ready to assist those veterans seeking Chapter 31 benefits.
Co-located on the same floor are several Veteran Service Organizations that offer personalized benefits counseling services and case management.
