Beckley VAMC is a 40-bed general medical and surgical facility with a 50-bed community living center. The medical center is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level III rural access facility serving Veterans in 11 counties in southern West Virginia. The community living center offers skilled nursing care, post-acute rehabilitation and restorative care, palliative care, and respite care for eligible Veterans.
The medical center also operates a home based primary care program; providing services to Veterans in nine counties (Raleigh, Wyoming, Mercer, Summers, Fayette, Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas in West Virginia and Alleghany in Virginia).
Beckley VAMC is part of the VA Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), which includes facilities in North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Additionally, Beckley VAMC is the home of the VISN 6 Nurse Telephone Care Center.
Outpatient Clinics/Vet Centers:
Beckley VAMC opened its first Mobile Outpatient Clinic on February 18, 2014, in Mercer County, West Virginia.
The Beckley VAMC operates the Greenbrier County Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Maxwelton, West Virginia. The Greenbrier County CBOC began seeing patients on January 18, 2011.
The Beckley VAMC supports two Veterans Outreach Centers – one located in Beckley and the other in Princeton, West Virginia. Each Vet Center provides outreach services, PTSD counseling, and an array of social services to Veterans.
