Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System
Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) consists of a VHA hospital facility in Biloxi, Mississippi. GCVHCS also has Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Mobile, Alabama; and Pensacola, Eglin Air Force Base and Panama City, Florida, serving the four counties along the Alabama Gulf Coast, seven counties along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and seven counties in Northwest Florida.
GCVHCS is a tertiary care facility classified at Clinical Referral Level 1c. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology, education, and research. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, medicine, surgery, psychiatry, psychology, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, extended care, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. GCVHCS is a part of Veterans Integrated Service Network 16, which includes facilities in Alexandria, New Orleans, and Shreveport, LA; Houston, TX; and Little Rock and Fayetteville, AR; and Jackson, MS.
The GCVHCS is privileged to serve more than 60,000 veterans. Additionally, it provides support to readjustment counseling centers and VA National Cemeteries along the Gulf Coast.
