Michael Johnson
Acting Western Team Leader, Project Management Service
Mike joined the Office of Construction & Facilities Management in 1999.
He currently serves as the Acting Western Team Leader, Western Health Care team and is responsible for overseeing a team of project managers and resident engineers to implement design and delivery of major construction projects located through the Western United States.
Prior to his current appointment, Mike was assigned as a Project Manager for the Office of Construction & Facilities Management (CFM) and responsible for projects totaling approximately $300 million dollars. Before assuming the responsibilities as a Project Manager, Mike was assigned as a Resident Engineer, at several VA Medical Center locations, charged with overseeing the daily project activity, serving as a liaison between the construction contractors and medical centers, and administering the construction contracts.
Mike started his career with the VA in 1987 as a project engineer at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah following graduation from Utah State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
