Battle of North Point (War of 1812) took place in this vicinity. Fort Howard established in 1899 for Coast Artillery. During 1930's, General Douglas MacArthur resided at fort when in command of a civilian manpower training program. War Department turned the property over to the VA in 1940. Right after Pearl Harbor, 3 buildings (31, 32 and 43) were requested by Justice Department for the detention of aliens. In the 1950's, 61 acres were excessed and used by Fort Holabird for an intelligence training site. That portion (with the remaining gun emplacements) is a Baltimore County Park and in the National Register.

Assorted Sites, Indian, WW-I Nitrate Plant

Perry Point Mansion and Mill Historic District, listed on National Register of Historic Places. 18 acres along River encompass both buildings, which date from mid-1700's. Land records have been traced back to grant from Lord Baltimore. Union Army used property as a mule training station in Civil War. Property purchased by federal government for a nitrate plant for WWI. Village of houses for workers were constructed in 1918; they are not considered historic.

Perryville National Cemetery has no interments. Due to land title problems, all bodies were removed to Camp Nelson about 1868. Congress accepted title to the land in an act of Congress in 1928, and the War Department  declared it a National Cemetery in 1931. VA does not list it as one.

Just outside station entrance is Roger's Tavern which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
