Former Northwestern Branch of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. Silurian Rock Reef, an ancient fossil bedrock dome, at north edge of property by Milwaukee Stadium looks like a large mound or hill. It contains ancient reef rocks. It is significant for its association with regionally noted geologist, Increase Allen Lapham, and his period of discovery, 1837.
