Welcome to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Greening VA Central Office (VACO) website. This site is an initiative of the Office of Asset Enterprise Management (OAEM) and the Greening VA Working Group. VACO has the unique opportunity and the responsibility to lead by example for the rest of the department. Greening VA Working Group Action Plan
In addition to the things we can do as individuals there are also actions that need management support and resources to be accomplished. The Greening VA Working Group has developed an action plan for greening VACO facilities. A summary of this action plan will be featured on this website. Through the sustainable operation and maintenance of all the VACO facilities we can:
- Reduce the emission of greenhouse gases
- Minimize energy costs
- Contribute to national security by reducing our dependence on foreign energy sources
- Improve conditions for VACO employees and visitors
- Serve as a model for the rest of VA
Greening Action Guide & Toolkit
The Greening VA Working Group and its Subcommittees have developed an action guide and toolkit to help VACO executives, managers, and employees plan and implement actions that can improve VACO’s overall energy efficiency, conserve resources, and demonstrate environmental stewardship.
