EDI Update

The Chief Business Office Purchased Care (CBOPC) values the services you provide to our beneficiaries and offers electronic claim filing (EDI) to all health care providers for VA programs. Many of our providers already enjoy the benefits of electronic filing, available through our health care clearinghouse, EmdeonŽ. Electronic filing offers many advantages: increased precision for claims processing, reduction of duplicate submissions from your office and an accelerated payment determination.

If you are not an Emdeon customer and are interested in submitting electronic claims, you may contact your clearinghouse or software vendor to add our Emdeon Payer IDs to your system for electronic claim transactions: 84146 for medical claims and 84147 for dental claims. In addition to medical and dental transactions, 835 Health Care Claim Remittance Advice and Real-Time 270 Eligibility transactions are available through EDI. You can search our Web site for information on EDI transactions in the Provider News section, where you will find information on filing requirements and electronic funds transfer as well as provider fact sheets. For more detailed information on electronic filing, please click the "How to file a claim electronically" link under the Provider News section.

We can also receive EDI pharmacy claims through our pharmacy benefit manager, SXC Health Solutions, Inc. (SXC). If you are not a part of the SXC network and are interested in getting more information, you can contact the SXC Provider Network Line at 480-362-5227.
