A lot of Vets are visiting the new program called “Make the Connection.” It’s a way for Veterans and their friends and family members to share information and solutions to issues affecting their health and well-being in their everyday lives.

On MakeTheConnection.net, you will hear inspiring stories of strength.

You will learn what has worked for Veterans and discover positive steps you can take — all in the words of Veterans just like you.

You get to select the conflict where you served, your branch of the service, whether you were in combat, and if you are male or female. A very effective filter that takes you right to people you can relate to.

Talking about it with other Vets who say, “Yeah, I hear you,” can be very helpful.

PTSD? We have an App for That

Under PTSD on the Mental Health web site, you can get information on the Mobile App: PTSD Coach. It can help you learn about and manage symptoms that commonly occur after trauma.

Returning Vets

Almost all service members will have reactions after returning from deployment. These behaviors and feelings are normal, especially during the first weeks at home.

Despite the challenges of reintegration, most service members will eventually successfully readjust with few problems. Seeking solutions to problems is a sign of strength. Don't hesitate to take advantage of the resources that are available to you and your loved ones.

Having knowledge, coping skills, and social support will positively influence your ability and attitude to handle the uncertainties post-deployment and better prepare you for the coming reintegration.

The professionals at the Veterans Crisis Line are specially trained and experienced in helping Veterans of all ages and circumstances—from Veterans still coping with mental health issues not yet addressed, to recent Veterans struggling with relationships or the transition back to civilian life.
