RESCISSION
- This notice is issued in accordance with Departmentwide policy and rescinds
the following directives in their entirety:
- VA Directive 7126.1, Central Office Controlled Items, dated September 4, 1994.
- VA Directive 7126.1/1, Central Office Controlled Items, dated May 31, 1995 (Change to VA Directive 7126.1).
- Approval authority for items formerly controlled by VA Central Office program
officials, National Cemetery System (NCS), Veterans Benefits Administration
(VBA), and Veterans Health Administration (VHA), is decentralized to the field
level. Policy and guidance will no longer be administered by the Office of
Acquisition and Materiel Management.
- Equipment requirements for NCS are being managed by the National Cemetery
Area Offices. Equipment requirements for VHA will be managed by the Veterans
Integrated Service Networks. The current 15-calendar day period for review
and comment between field and program officials will be maintained for VHA.
An internal directive reflecting additional guidance relative to program office
review will be issued by VHA. There are no specific instructions relative to
program office review/approval from VBA at this time.
- RESCISSION: This notice is rescinded February 28, 1997; however, the information reflected will remain in effect until such time as there is a change in policy.
