Rescission

  1. This notice is issued in accordance with Departmentwide policy and rescinds VA Manual MP-2, Subchapter H, Part 108-42, Utilization and Disposal, in its entirety.
  2. Specific policy and procedures associated with utilization and destruction of controlled drugs (101-42.1102-3 and 5 (d)) and firearms (101-42.1102-10) will be adhered to in accordance with the Federal Procurement Management Regulations (FPMR).
  3. Due to recent changes in FPMR, policy and procedures pertaining to recovery of precious metals, previously included in MP-2, Subchapter H, Part 108-42.3, are now included in VA Directive and VA Handbook 7343.
  4. RESCISSION: This notice is rescinded June 30, 1996; however, the information reflected will remain in effect until such time as there is a change in policy.
