Systems Quality Assurance Service (SQAS)
Welcome!
The Systems Quality Assurance Service (SQAS) is organizationally aligned in the Office of Business Oversight in the OM organization. VA Directive 4900 (6/28/2004) established SQAS as the primary office that manages and oversees Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of internal control areas for financial and interfacing automated information systems within the VA. Public law, regulations and directives mandate that internal controls become a requisite part of all federal financial and interfacing automated information systems. SQAS activities provide an objective assessment of software products and processes throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This assessment demonstrates whether the software requirements and system requirements (i.e., those allocated to software) are correct, complete, accurate, consistent, and testable.
