Summary

Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 170 employees. This review focused on 11 operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following two activities (1) medication management and (2) mental health treatment continuity. The facility’s reported accomplishments included Joint Commission recognition and a comprehensive anticoagulation program. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following nine activities: (1) moderate sedation, (2) colorectal cancer screening, (3) environment of care, (4) point-of-care testing, (5) QM, (6) coordination of care, (7) nurse staffing, (8) polytrauma, and (9) follow-up on physician credentialing and privileging issues.
