Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 31 employees. This review focused on 11 operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the medication management activity. The facility’s reported accomplishment was the creation of a quarterly Community Partnership Forum. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following 10 activities: (1) mental health treatment continuity, (2) coordination of care, (3) colorectal cancer screening, (4) environment of care, (5) moderate sedation, (6) point-of-care testing, (7) polytrauma, (8) nurse staffing, (9) QM, and (10) follow-up on reusable medical equipment competencies.
