Summary

Summary
The VA Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducted a review to evaluate selected health care facility operations, focusing on patient care quality and the environment of care. During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 67 employees. This review focused on seven operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following four activities: (1) coordination of care, (2) magnetic resonance imaging safety, (3) emergency airway management, and (4) Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program. The facility’s reported accomplishments were opening two of four planned Green House homes in September 2014 and receiving the VA National Center for Patient Safety’s Gold Cornerstone Award for fiscal year 2013. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following three activities: (1) quality management, (2) environment of care, and (3) medication management.
