Summary
The VA Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducted a review to evaluate selected health care facility operations, focusing on patient care quality and the environment of care. This review focused on eight operational activities and two follow-up review areas from the previous Combined Assessment Program review. The facility complied with selected standards in the environment of care activity. The facility’s reported accomplishment was the development of Nutrition-Patient Aligned Care Team Diabetes Women’s Shared Medical Appointment and Telehealth group clinics to provide comprehensive diabetes care to women veterans. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following nine activities, which includes the two follow-up review areas: (1) quality management, (2) medication management, (3) coordination of care, (4) magnetic resonance imaging safety, (5) acute ischemic stroke care, (6) Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, (7) emergency airway management, (8) follow-up on quality management, and (9) follow-up on colorectal cancer screening.
