Products...As-Is...Conceptual Information Model (CIM)

The One-VA Conceptual Information Model (CIM) provides a high-level, wide-ranging, data classification of Veterans Affairs (VA) business information needs.  It is the beginning of a framework to manage and share information, and to ensure that VA business applications provide required data.

The CIM extends the logical model of data classes associated with the One-VA Data Architecture Classification Scheme.  In EA 4.2, the classification hierarchy replaces the previous One-VA Corporate Information Model Version 2.1.

This new CIM serves as a starting point for VA logical data models, and data modelers will use the corresponding classification scheme to partition those models into subject areas meaningful to VA.
