The
Office of Enterprise Architecture Management
(OEAM) reports to the CIO and Deputy CIO. It
performs a number of functions that enhance
services to veterans while also improving VA’s
use of, and investment in, information and
technology.
OEAM
prepares and manages the Department’s
Enterprise Architecture (EA), the primary
purpose of which is to ensure IT capital
investments are aligned with the business
needs of the Department. This is accomplished
by linking the Secretary’s strategic
vision with the business requirements of
the administrations and then ensuring IT
capital investments support those business
needs. Duplicative or low return on investment
systems will be eliminated and new systems
will support the OneVA culture by providing
common services through Department-wide enterprise
systems versus legacy stovepipe systems. [read
