The 508 Center

  • The Section 508 Accessibility Testing and Training Center (T&TC) is responsible for establishing and maintaining a tracking report on all inquiries relating to Section 508 and addressing problem resolution for the Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology (VA CIO) stakeholders.
  • Located in room C-10A on the C-Level in the Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office which is accessible and open to all employees by appointment interested in learning, using, and evaluating EIT products.
  • A dynamic ergonomically designed working environment, which tests proposed EIT products for Section 508 conformance prior to their coming online with VA’s Enterprise Architecture Framework.
  • Houses PC’s that contain adaptive technology and are configured with accessible tools.
  • At our test facility, our specialized staff tests software, web-based applications and multimedia products to: Improve the accessibility of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Products with Developers, host accessible E&IT demonstrations, and provide telecommunications access for disabled employees.
