VISN 7 Medical Equipment Opportunity Showcase

Synopsis:  VISN 7 conducted a Medical Equipment Opportunity Showcase for vendors promoting USB Spirometry testing equipment and interpretation software.  The purpose of the showcase was to provide Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone Small Businesses an opportunity to interact with a Program Decision Maker (PDM) regarding future needs within the Health Informatics office in VISN 7.  The featured Program Decision Maker was Dr. Kevin Galpin, Chief Health Informatics Officer.  The event had two phases:

  1. PDM will provide an overview of forecasted opportunities and future business requirements.
  2. Small Businesses will have the opportunity to introduce their capabilities and demonstrate their product to the PDM.
23rd Annual Government Procurement Conference

Synopsis:  The 23rd Annual Government Procurement Conference was a national conference fostering business partnerships between the Federal Government, its prime contractors, and small, minority, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and women-owned businesses.  Now in its 23rd year, the 23rd Annual Government Procurement Conference Directors’ Conference became the premier event for small business throughout the United States.  This year, the event location was moved to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.  The new venue allowed for a wider participation by both small businesses and the Federal Government.

Participating firms had the benefit of marketing their products and services to procurement representatives and small business specialists from federal agencies.  Companies chose to set up an exhibit table to showcase their capabilities or simply come as an attendee.  The conference also includes educational conference sessions, procurement matchmaking, and a dynamic exhibitor showcase.  VA’s Senior Management IT speakers Mr. Wil Berrios, Assistant Deputy Chief Information Officer Project Management Services and Mr. Horace Blackman, Acting Senior Advisor and Customer Advocate for Benefits spoke at the Business Requirement Session.

MAI Appraiser Industry Day

Synopsis:  This past event The Department of Veterans Affairs established multiple blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) to provide the Leasing Department at VISN 18 (Arizona, New Mexico and Western Texas which includes El Paso, Amarillo and Big Spring, Texas areas) with contractors who could perform appraisals on various types of properties.

The Opportunity Showcase was held for Industry NAICS code 531320.

What NCO 18 is looking for:  MAI Certified Appraisers willing to service the rural areas of Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas.  The appraisers had to possess the capability to complete these services within 30 days of notification of the need for the appraisal.

Requirements:  MAI Appraisal must have the certification for the appropriate state the appraiser is servicing.

Synopsis:  This past event The Department of Veterans Affairs established multiple blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) to provide the Prosthetics Department at VISN 18 (Arizona, New Mexico and Western Texas which includes El Paso, Amarillo and Big Spring, Texas areas) with contractors who could design and build custom handicap ramps and home improvements and alterations for our Veterans’ homes.

Under the Home Improvements and Structural Alterations (HISA) program, Veterans with service-connected disabilities or Veterans with non-service-connected disabilities can receive assistance for any home improvement necessary for the continuation of treatment or for disability access to the home and essential lavatory and sanitary facilities.
