Contracts have been awarded for the "Early Site Infrastructure" project at the H.J. Heinz III Progressive Care Center in O'Hara Township. The estimated $5 million project, part of the Heinz Division of Veterans Administration Pittsburgh Healthcare System, will provide underground utility, central plant upgrades, storm water management, roadway and parking changes needed to support all the new buildings. Plans call for construction of about 68,000 square feet of residential in seven free-standing buildings and 84,000 square feet of office/administrative space. The $4 million support services building, started in June, is expected to be completed in June 2007. Overall, the $200 million project will include more than 500,000 square feet of building space, plus a 1,500-space parking structure.
