Who We Are
The VHA Procurement and Logistics Office (P&LO) supports the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) in purchasing high quality, cost-effective health care products and services. The Office also works to standardize health care supplies, equipment, and services through aggressive contracting, and by monitoring logistics data. With annual expenditures of more than $15 billion and a contracting staff of 2700, VHA Procurement and Logistics Office is one of the largest procurement and supply groups within the federal government. The office oversees purchasing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, medical and operational supplies, prosthetics, high-tech medical equipment, and other critical patient care items to VHA health care facilities, which comprise the largest health care delivery system in the United States.
P&LO provides service through its major organizational components: Chief Operating Office, Office of Logistics, Office of Procurement, Service Area Offices (SAO): SAO East, SAO Central, and SAO West, VHA Special Projects Office, and the VHA Veterans Service Center (VSC) located in Cleveland, OH.

To develop, implement and oversee national policies and processes and serve as strategic enablers in the delivery of healthcare services to our nation’s Veterans by providing world-class logistics and acquisition services to the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) integrated healthcare system. This includes seeking to procure high quality healthcare products and services in the most cost effective manner, surpass socio-economic procurement goals set by VHA, implementing a comprehensive plan for the standardization of healthcare supplies and equipment through aggressive contracting and monitoring logistics benchmarking data.
