CHAPTER 28. MILITARY PROMOTION RECONSIDERATION CASES (RELOOK)

28.01 GENERAL

A RELOOK case involves a military service member who has elected to accept a military board's decision to void a previous separation/retirement date and be returned to active duty. The voiding of a previous separation or retirement date necessitates that VA amend previous benefit awards that have resulted in the payment of benefits to the individual as a veteran.

28.02 TRANSFER OF RESPONSIBILITY

The RELOOK function has been transferred to the Debt Management Center (DMC) in St. Paul. The DMC will issue new instructions for field stations.
