Southern Plains and Eastern Regions
Mary Culley is the Tribal Government Relations Specialist for the Southern Plains and Southeastern Region, covering the following states: Alabama, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Central/Eastern Texas.
A military dependent herself, Mary joined the Air Force June 1979 and served for 20 years, retiring June 1999. A single mother her entire military career, over 3/4 of her career was in the overseas environment. She was handpicked for various positions during her military career. One such position was with NATO, assigned to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe’s (SACEUR) Flight Operations Division, SHAPE, Belgium. She was also handpicked for a USAFE position assigned to the Airlift Wing’s Base Personnel Readiness Unit. She was Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of all worldwide deployments in and out of the European Theatre.
Mary joined the VA in February 2005 as Administrative Officer and Staff Assistant to the Associate Director, Patient Care Services, OKC VA Medical Center. She also served as Tribal Liaison on behalf of the Medical Center Director.
Mary has a Masters in Business Administration/ Health Care Management and a B.S. in Business Administration. A Seminole/Creek Indian, she is an enrolled member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, a member of the Tom Palmer Band, is wind clan on her mother’s side and has 1 daughter and 2 grandchildren.
