About Us

We develop statistical analyses and reports on a broad range of topics, operate VA's data and statistics Web portal to disseminate Veteran data and statistics, and develop estimates and projections on Veteran populations.
Additionally, we lead interagency data-sharing collaborations with other Federal agencies, and conduct survey analyses and research including future iterations of the National Survey of Veterans.
We also lead the effort to implement corporate data governance and corporate data management in VA, and implement enterprise business intelligence tools and processes to support analysis and planning activities in VA.
To serve as the authoritative clearinghouse for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to collect, validate, analyze, and disseminate key statistics on Veteran population and VA programs to support planning, analysis, and decision-making activities.

April 24, 2013, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) released the Geographic Distribution of VA Expenditures Report (GDX). This report details VA expenditures at the state, county, and Congressional District level. It includes categories such as Compensation and Pension, Construction, Insurance, and Medical Care. Veteran population estimates and the number of unique patients who used VA health care services are also available.
April 19, 2013, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) released Veteran Population Projections: FY2010 to FY2040. The projections in this report summarize some of the typical demographic characteristics of the Veteran population.
March 14, 2013 - Employment of Veterans in the Federal Government These quick facts use data from the 2011 Employment of Veterans in the Federal Executive Branch to compare Veteran employment in the Federal Government by agency, occupation, and level of disability. Three of the four charts focus on new hires.
March 12, 2013 - Profile of Veterans 2011 This report uses data from the 2011 American Community Survey.
February 22, 2013 -Women Veterans This report uses data from the 2011 American Community Survey to compare the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Veterans and non-Veterans. It also explores the differences between male Veterans and female Veterans.
