Disease Management, Anxiety
Disease Management is collaborative care model for the management of patients with anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, anxiety nos) who are actively enrolled in primary or medical subspecialty care. The model incorporates the use of a Behavioral Health Specialist who provides expertise in mental health assessment and is well versed in the delivery of algorithm-based management strategies for each of these disorders. The role of the BHS is to facilitate treatment, as well as to provide psychoeducation in a manner that is consistent with the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) guidelines.
