Treatment Monitoring
Treatment Monitoring for depression is a service designed to help Primary Care Clinicians provide evidence-based care for patients receiving new antidepressant prescriptions. Monitoring consists of up to 3 brief structured assessments following a core BHL interview; these are done primarily over the telephone, and take place during the initial 12 weeks of treatment. These brief interviews monitor adherence, side effects, and response to antidepressant treatment. A progress report is provided to the PCCs to help in treatment planning and to alert clinicians of special issues. Patients who do not respond or become non-adherent can be referred on to the depression disease management program.
