HOW THE BHL CAN HELP WITH DEPRESSION TREATMENT

Recognizing depression in a primary care setting can be challenging. In busy primary care settings time is limited, there are often multiple medical issues to address, and patients rarely spontaneously describe emotional difficulties3. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening adults for depression within primary care practices that have systems in place to assure accurate diagnosis, effective treatment and follow up: the BHL works to facilitate these three components.
