Clinical Activities
MIRECC clinical activities have centered around our goals of characterizing current services, enhancing the delivery of guideline-adherent care, providing resources for clinical consultation, and establishing clinical demonstration projects.
We also have established a mechanism to encourage clinicians to explore innovative clinical or educational projects, through our Clinical/Educational Demonstration Projects small grants program.
In response to feedback from those who attended our Fall 2000 conference on "Suicide Risk Identification and Prevention," the MIRECC convened a Suicide Prevention Task Force to address attendees' concerns. The MIRECC also was integral in putting on a "Suicide Prevention Summit" in Pittsburgh on May 2004, in Pittsburgh, that drew participants from across VISN 4.
