Ishan Salloum, M.D., MPH
Dr. Salloum is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Medical Director for Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency Services, WPIC. He has worked extensively with dual disorder patients, developing and implementing inpatient and outpatient services for this special population. His research interest has focused on mood disorders and alcohol and drug use disorders comorbidity. He has conducted clinical epidemiological research examining the manifestations and the clinical presentations of dual disorders. He has conducted studies and clinical trials on comorbid depression and alcoholism, comorbid bipolar disorder and alcoholism, and on novel pharmacotherapies for alcoholism. Dr. Salloum has been a recipient of an NIAAA fellowship award in alcohol research, has been the principal investigator and co-principal investigator on several research projects.
