Visitor Information
Visiting Rules and Guidelines
Your family and friends are welcome to visit you
at the Medical Center. We request that their stay
be short and that they be respectful of all patients.
Children under the age of 15 are generally not
permitted above the 1st floor, but special arrangements
can be made through your ward nurse
manager. Members of the clergy may visit anytime
at the discretion of the health team.
Visiting Hours
NHCU/Medical/Surgical Units 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Psychiatric Units
All visitors should report to the Communication
Center on the ward.
Intensive Care Units (SICU/MICU/CCU)
Critical care visiting hours are dependent on
patient condition and are at the discretion of the
nurse caring for the patient. During the day tour,
check with the ward clerk before entering the
patient area.
Waiting Rooms
Waiting rooms are located on each floor in our
Medical Center including the main lobby on the
1st floor.
Lot "A" is designated for patient and visitor
. Inpatients who will be hospitalized for an
extended period of time are asked to register their
car with the VA Police and park in the area posted
for "Inpatient " at the rear of the lot. If you
have any questions or concerns about parking,
please contact the VA Police.
Temporary Lodging
The Stratton Inn provides lodging to veterans
and their family members/caregivers who require sleeping
accommodations the night prior or immediately
following an outpatient procedure or are undergoing
radiation treatment. A reservation can be made by
the health care team member who is scheduling your
test or procedure.
The Fisher House
The Fisher House is a home-away-from-home for
families of hospitalized veterans or veterans who
are in the area to visit a hospitalized member of
their immediate family. Also welcome to stay at the
Fisher House are veterans undergoing an extended
episode of outpatient therapy, who are able to care
for their own personal needs or are accompanied by
a caretaker.
