| Program Requirements |
 All volunteers are hospital employees or volunteers that have been with the hospital for 6 months.
Background checks have been done.
Confidentially agreements have been signed.
Patient privacy classes have been taken.

| Orientation |
| Each volunteer is given an orientation packet which contains both practical and inspirational materials to assist them in their service as a compassionate companion. |
