War-Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC-DC)

Purpose
The mission of WRIISC-DC is to offer services to combat veterans, families,
and health care professionals. The staff at the center provide clinical
care, education, and risk communication. WRIISC-DC also conducts research
addressing potential environmental exposures and adverse health outcomes.
WRIISC-DC incorporates four program elementsclinical care, risk
communication, research, and educationinto a coherent conceptual
model as shown below. The model is circular to emphasize the interrelated
nature of Center activities, each supportive of the next, with the goal
of enhancing the quality of our efforts and benefiting combat veterans.
