![Everybody [at the Vet Education Center] is a military veteran. We got Army, Navy, Air Force, and everybody here. They were out of work, displaced, and just trying anything to get a new job. It’s like, okay, I joined the military for a good reason; it’s not wasted. It’s good that people don’t [forget] where we came from. Philip joined the Army to honor America's heritage and the legacy of fighting for freedom. Since separating from the Army, he misses the camaraderie and sense of mission. Making the transition from military service to civilian life has been difficult, especially in terms of finding work. Philip finds happiness in meeting up with other Veterans through classes offered at the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service and Education Center. Philip’s goal is to find a job that uses the skills he developed in the military.
